how long will El Capitan be supported

Early 2011 MacBook Pro 2.0 i7,4gb ram 500 hd
I am wondering how long el capitan will be supported or if i should consider using the available high sierra patch tool to make high sierra run on my mid 2009 13 inch macbook pro

El Capitan is 2 releases (Sierra and High Sierra) behind and isn't technically supported with any fixes. Only High Sierra is getting updates. High Sierra is likely the last version of macOS that will work with your 2009 MBP, so at least grab the installer and keep it handy before the next release of macOS comes out.
