Thumb Drive Shows on up on "Mac HD/Charles iMac" But It Does Not Show up on Desktop

Thumb Drive when installed, shows on up on "Mac HD/Charles iMac" (under menu "Devices" but I cannot the thumb drive icon to appear on the Desktop. Could not find a solution on system preferences.
Your advice please.
OSX v 10.12.6 Thank you.

Yes! Thanks, I had looked at this but did not think that "external disks" under Finder/Preferences included the thumb drive. Works now. Much appreciated!
