Hello,

I need to export two Photo albums to a brand new, empty USB flash drive. I've place them in folders and I'm following these instructions:

[File -> Export and export them to a Folder on your Desktop.

Drag the Folder to the USB flash drive.]

Yet the albums won't copy as two items. Each image in Photo is pasted separately, so I have + 900 items on the USB flash drive.

This happens with either one folder (two albums inside) or two folders (one album inside each).

What am I doing wrong?

TIA

Hello and welcome to the forum! :) Now, I'm not that familiar w/ Photos, but I opened the app on my MBPro (El Capitan, 10.11.3), and highlighted one of my albums, clicked on 'File' and then 'Export' - the choices were grayed out and there was no option to pick 'Album' - when I selected two of the images (see screen capture below, blue arrows), then I was given several choices but only to export the images. As you likely know, the actual images are NOT stored in these albums but linked to the main 'database' of photos in the app - also in Finder, these are not stored as albums, so cannot use that channel to copy an album(s) to another location.

Take a look at this fairly recent DISCUSSION - iCloud sharing and inviting others to view might be a choice if you where planning to send the USB drive to friends and/or relatives - don't know? Also, you could get the images onto the flash drive from one album and assume then put them into a folder there, and perform that task sequentially - kind of a pain, though. Good luck and let us know if you find a solution and maybe someone will 'chime in' who might have figured out a way? Dave :)
