Hi guys, i recently (and finally!) bought myself a nice macbook pro. I do a lot of photography and such and, well it was just time!
Now, what is the best way to view photos from an external hard drive? I open a photo and it opens in Preview, then when i close the photo the folder i was in closes too.. annoying! whats the best way to do this??? thanks so much!

Welcome to the Mac Forums.

If you do a lot of photography and accumulate a large amount of photos that you like to view, it would probably be best to move your iPhoto library to an external hard drive. Then you can view them in sequence or by activity.

How to move your iPhoto library to an external hard drive

The caveat here is that you will need to make sure the external hard drive is attached when you open iPhoto or you'll get an error.

If you're browsing to a folder of pics - Use the Finder instead of Preview.

Highlight (single click) a picture in the folder you want to view - then press the space key.
That will open a quick view of the pic - you will now be able to use the arrow keys to move from pic to pic within that folder.
