Database for mac

New to mac and looking for a database to use, with ms it was access, Thx for your help

Hello RJ... - welcome to the forum! :) Please provide some more information: 1) Do you need to 'migrate' Access DBs over to the Apple?; and 2) How complicated are your database needs and how much to you want to invest?

As to the first question, please take a look at this THREAD - the comments are discouraging. As to the second question, one option is to export your Access DB(s) to another format, such as Excel and then bring the data into a spreadsheet program, such as Numbers (others exist); there are a number of Office Suites that run on the Mac (e.g. OpenOffice, LibreOffice, etc.). Probably one of the best database programs for the Mac is File Maker (but quite expensive).

Of course, a Windows partition can be formatted and MS Office running under the MS OS - good luck and let us know if you have other questions - Dave

Thx for your info, yes I will be trying to take some excel and input it in to the database, I have no knowledge with databases yet, but will soon learn. I have dl a trial of filemaker pro and will see how I make out, thx again, RJ

There's the database component of LibreOffice - it's free so it might be worth a shot.
