My son down-loaded and installed (snow_leopard_black_os_x_10_6_8_update_by_wavespell) not knowing it wasn't supposed be used with Lyon... His computer is working just fine but the graphics are jacked up. Need a little help removing this. Can anyone assist?

I'm not sure what really happened there as no Snow Leopard update would ever install on a machine with Lion, it would just flat out stop and tell you that there is a newer OS already installed.

Without further details, I can only advise that you backup the personal and third-party app stuff, erase the HD and do a fresh internet recovery of Lion from the recovery partition.

Let this be a "teachable moment" for your son about the hazards of pirating.

Agreed chad_m... It shouldn't have installed... Waiting to hear from the site he down-loaded from... If that don't provide any info he's gonna do a fresh install....

That app is just a desktop "theme", not a Snow Leopard update.

It does come with it's own uninstaller. Try opening the downloaded dmg file and run the uninstaller.

You could also try downloading the Obisidian Menu Bar - designed to return system to the default menu bar for 10.7 & 10.8 - link - you'll find it under Themes.

The uninstaller won't work with Lyon... We've already started the fresh install... Thanks for suggestions...
