thinking of buying a ibook or a powerbook

i been wanting to get a small laptop for on the go, been looking at just netbooks but i see the old mac powerbooks and ibooks are like only 300$ on ebay

what do yall think of them? i dont really need all the performance, just something i can web with and looks hipster for when i sit outside of starbucks (lol jk) though about ipad, but i want a ibook or a powerbook

this is the one that i been looking at:

i think it looks nice and meets my on the go needs :)

Where are you located? If in the US...$300 for an iBook or Powerbook is too much. You can almost get an older MacBook for that amount (and that would be a MUCH better computer).

$227 for the e-Bay link is better...but still maybe a tad much.

I personally wouldn't accept any iBook or Powerbook even if it were given to me for free these days.

It's not that you couldn't make them sorta-kinda work acceptably well for basic internet use (particularly the last iBook G4), but just that it would be soooo frustrating every time you wanted to update software, do something like watch web video, use something made this decade, etc etc etc.

For very limited uses, older machines can work out fine. A friend of mine used an original clamshell iBook until fairly recently for her writing. But as general purpose, in-use day-to-day machines, I can't see the point of using them anymore -- too frustrating, too old, too costly to fix/upgrade, etc.
