mac cleanup

should i be using a mac cleanup or mackeeper? any recommendations? also is there a place on this forums where you can type in a word or phrase to see if there are previous posts about a topic?

What do you want to clean up?

There is a search button at the top, 5th from the right, but a search will definitely inform you to steer clear of MacKeeper

Stay away from MacKeeper.
Onyx is generally recommended and it is free.

Well despite the above comments, I have MacKeeper and it does me no harm at all.
Choice is a marvellous thing.

Another vote to stay away from MacKeeper and use the free Onyx.

Download the version matching your version of OS X from here.

And this ain't Windows. Most users will find they don't need to do any sort of maintenance but 3-4 times a year. I don't even open it until I notice some slow down on my system.
