Importng bookmarks from pc

Is there a way to import Firefox bookmarks or favs from a windows pc to an imac running the latest os?
Also does CCleaner do the job on the imac or is there a better os app.I have had my second hand imac for one day after many many years of Windows pc.

You don't need CCleaner, or any other app like that. OS X is not Windows, so all of that third party stuff you used to need are no longer needed (or wanted). About all you need are

Onyx (www.titanium.free.fr) Free and does all the "cleaning" you need. Run it every few months or so (I run it twice a year unless I have a specific reason to do so). Get the right version for the OS on your iMac.
Ghostery (ghostery.com) Free-- blocks trackers, beacons, ads, malware and other stuff your browser may pick up. Turn it on to block EVERYTHING and then if you need something you can pause the blocking for that one thing.
Malwarebytes (malwarebytes.com) Free-deletes any malware that may get past Ghostery. Run it once after install, then again if you see any strange behaviors.

No need for antivirus, there are none in the wild at present that can run in OS X or macOS. You don't need memory managers, memory cleaner, hard drive cleaners, or any other of the crapola that routinely advertises for macs.

I installed v18 of Kodi on my iMac,could not get it to work properly so uninstalled it and then installed V17 of Kodi.
The thing is though my settings for Kodi V18 appeared in V17.This means that uninstalling v18 left some files behind.
Something which was thought was not meant to happen with macs?

Applications create preference files named "plist" that store configurations. They are very small, but the do usually get left behind in uninstalls. That happened to you, most likely. If it bugs you, get Appcleaner, reinstall V18, then drag it to Appcleaner and the plist should be deleted. Then reinstall V17 and it should be factory default again.

Try AppCleaner, https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/. Install v18 again after you install and setup AppCleaner. Make sure AppCleaner is running and then uninstall v18 again.

Edit: It looks like Jake beat me to it.

You will have to bear with me on this i am afraid.
I have the free version of Appcleaner and will have to buy the full version to completely remove an app and all its traces ?
Is that correct.?

I am trying to remove Vox but it does seem to want to go.
I drag the icon from the apps folder to Trash but it just comes straight back out again.
When i try with Appcleaner there is a locked padlock next to the Vox icon.

You didn't download the app from the App Store, did you? That app is from a different vendor, get the app from the link in my previous post (post # 47). You should not need to pay to use it.

Some APPs leave Plist and Library Files behind. Generally pretty easy to locate and then just drag to Trash

Edit: didn't see the other posts. Carry on . . .

What do you guys think of the app uninstaller feature that came with OS X Sierra? I have used it several times by accessing the "manage" tab in the system info window under "Storage". Even though it makes it seam as though the app is completely uninstalled from my Mac I am not entirely sure if it does so.

Thank you! I've had my iMac since the spring after decades of experience with DOS/Windows, but I have been mighty puzzled about installing/uninstalling in Mac OS. I will go over this carefully.
