Hi everyone, Im wanting to try my hand at developing and have been offered the belo machine.

IMac

It has an Intel Core 2 duo processor so it can run iOS and Windows.

It has 2gb RAM and a 250gb HDD.

It is currently running Snow Leopard and I have lots of extra software (iLife 11, Office 2011, Adobe CS5, Aperture 3 and much more).

I have a Mini DVI to VGA adapter so you can connect it to a second monitor or a TV.

It comes with an Apple remote

It has a built in front facing camera and built in microphone, for Facetime to other apple devices or skype

Slot loading CD drive

Excellent sound quality

Built in Bluetooth

A Fire wire port

Do you already own the licenses for these programs? If not, are the licenses included, or just the software? If it's the latter, you're getting screwed. If it's the former, then with the computer, you could be looking in the neighborhood of $3-$5K, depending on the software.

I'd also take a [virtual] trip to Crucial.com to see how much a RAM upgrade will cost. 2GB might have been something special back when Buddy Holly was still popular, but you should really think about maxing it out. Especially if you plan on developing for multiple operating systems and would like to run them in VMs.

ETA: I'm far from an expert, so take my opinion for what it's worth. :) I'm sure some of the forum's real McCoy's will be around soon enough.

What size monitor for the iMac ?? bc price for a machine like that. Is it a 2008 20" ?? Only ask bc of the HD size. We cant give you a recommendation on what ypu supplied.
But if it is this one then according to Mac2Sell its worth $570 US. Not sure where your from though . . . . Same site says 500 Euro

Cheers
