Hello,

I am wanting to share a folder from my mac with my windows network. I am currently trying to share my "public" folder. The problem I am having is I can not figure out how to share the sub folders without enabling them individually.

I wanted to save a large amount of files here to share with other computers and let time machine keep it backed up.

Maybe another storage place would be better? I do notice that my usb drive i use for time machine doesn't have this permission problem.

Any help or other ideas would be great.

Thanks, dreck

You should be able to do the following:

Open up More Info for the folder you want to share (Public in this case).

Click on the Lock at the bottom right if you need to unlock the folder.

Change the permissions/settings.

Click on the Gear and little triangle icon next to the plus/minus icons. That should allow you to say 'Apply to enclosed items'. That should push your settings down to everything below/within that folder automatically for you.
