For those switching over you will I am sure at some time want to keep you mac clean. I have an imac. I tried the usual cleaners that I used for PC's and in general the result was pretty awful.

After looking through the forum and googling it appears that Iklear is the answer. Sadly for me I live underneath the US and have just ordered a pack. I am being charged $46 (US) which is extortionate compared to some of the prices I have seen advertised. So although it appears that Iklear is the answer I hope you have better luck with the price I am being charged.

Baby wipes followed quickly with a microfiber cloth to get rid of the excess thats left behind. They get rid of everything and they won't leave streaking/bleaching smear. Make sure they're not dripping wet.

For those switching over you will I am sure at some time want to keep you mac clean.

For the screen I use methylated spirits, or proprietary window cleaner, with a paper towel or tissue; for the body I use a damp, linen cloth (old teatowel actually). For the keyboard I use my trusty dead parrot (multi-colored duster wand), or the vacuum cleaner brush when the computer is switched off - and unplugged! For the mouse 'feet' I use my thumbnail followed by a plain tissue wipe.

A lightly damp wash cloth on the screen and body works great when and if I clean it. If my mac makes it out of my hands alive, I wish it all the best.

You do know that paper towels on electronics is comparable to sandpaper on wood.....right?

I've been using paper towells and windex on laptop monitors and regular displays for years. Never been scratched yet. I'll keep using them myself. I've been using them on my MBP for a year now and it still looks brand new.

Thanks for the tips :D

I have tried paper towels, both wet and dry, never done the baby wipes though. I am sure that I have read that you should never use spirits of any kind due to the coating on the screen. I have read many write ups and the general consensus is that Iklear is just about the best. Will be trying tomorrow when it arrives. Being under the US (thought the name would be a giveaway :D ) is Mexico. Mac subsidiaries here appear to add 100% on to the price they quote in the States. 1GB extra memory in the mac outlet is $ 60 US! Still thats another story :(

Thanks

To each their own, however I personally would never use, or recommend using paper towel on a computer screen....they're far too abrasive.

The local (and only) Apple Cert. Tech recommend Monster Screen Clean available just about anywhere (Best Buy, etc). Great guy, lucky I found him. Bro of our vet of all things. :)
