Pictures from USB to Photo

How could I transfer pictures on my USB to Photo or Photo Library?? I want to order Album of our wedding. Album from Photo and when I tried it won't reconized USB only Photo so means I have to put all wedding pictures there

Select them and drag them. Try one first to make sure it works with your versions of everything. Works for me.

I did that and it disappeared ?? even tried copy and paste, does the same disapeared...I tried everything and nothing works

In Photos, did you try "Import"? Under File > Import?

Some ideas come to mind and things to try.
1. what format are the photos on the USB? jpg and NEF drag OK for me.
2. select and open with Photos also works for me.
3. is the USB locked to read only or something? Can you copy files from the USB to your computer first then drag into Photos?

OH, good try Import as above too.

Yes but it won't go to Photo Library

OH, good try Import as above too.

I can drag it anywhere except Photo Library

If I use Import, Photo are not hightlighted in Photo, look at picture below

Look at your USB. It says you have only "custom access". Guessing that's why you can't do what you want. You will need to contact the person who put on "custom access" and have him/her give you full read/write access.

I don't know a way around this, but perhaps someone else here does.

Yes I see that, How to I change that??

Whoever did it and one assumes it has come from a windows user because of the FAT 32 formatting. They will have to change Sharing & Permissions.

I m the only one use this and I bought it new from Mac store. Did u say its from PC I have ( window 10 )
If I format my usb, will that help?

You can drag the images on the USB to a folder on your computer.

It is possible to format the drive on your MBP, but you will lose everything when you do the formatting. It will erase the USN disk drive.

Yes I got it by dragging and drop all pictures into new folder on desktop then from that folder I use import to Photo. works

Got it all even formatting both USB and using Disk Utility
BUT I cannot format DVD... look below that erase is not highlighted...Why??

Optical discs (CD or DVD) do not need formatting. Only Re-Writeable (CD-RW or DVD+/-RW) discs can be erased (formatted), but the format for them is entirely different than disk drives.
