I remember some years back an iTunes third party app that could spoof whatever external disk/drive as a superdrive. Anyone remember this? Or the name of the app more importantly?

Thanks in advance!

You might get some better replies if you posted what you're actually attempting to do for the members to help. ;)

Edit:
Years ago, Apple also had a SuperDrive that was used as a floppy disk drive and later on the SuperDrive combination drive that can read and write (copy) to both CDs and DVDs and then the latest model that only works with some optical-less Macs.
