finding the best brand of cctv

Hi, I don’t know anything about CCTV systems but my friend told me to install one in order to protect my home from intruder attacks. But like I said, I’m not familiar with them and I don’t know which among the many cctv systems are the best. So I would like to ask what the best brand of cctv is so that I my choices will be narrowed down. Aside from that, I want to know what the features of the best system are so that when I will purchase one, it wouldn’t be that hard for me anymore. Thank you!

Here's an article I happened to have read recently on the topic, though I'm not making any recommendations. Let's be clear about something: CCTV will not reduce your risk nor protect your home. It will simply record what goes on outside or inside the home during the attack, which may prove useful to police.

I agree with Chas, adding a CCTV to an existing alarm system is good to not only know that some intruder attempted to get into your house, but also have the video footage to help the authorities nab the guy(s).

So first you might want to look into an alarm system for your house. Xfinity and Verizon FiOS (if you have either) are also showcasing some home monitoring systems that you could look into if you are a customer of either of those..
