i am new here - i hope i can get the answers to my questions :
i am thinking about buying an imac 24' 3.06 Ghz.
i would appreciate it if some one could answer my auestions :

1. is it powerful enough to work with after effects and avid ?
2. in pc's you can not install avid and pro-tools simultaneously. i wonder if this problem also exist on imac.
3. is final cut really much better than avid ?

thanks very much,
yonatan.

Your Mac's Specs
21" iMac * 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7 * 16GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 * 1TB HD *AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB
I don't see why Windows wouldn't run those program at once if they are the Windows versions of them.

At any rate, if you're going to be doing a lot of video work, you'll need something more powerful than an iMac. A Macbook Pro with a dedicated graphics card would be the best thing for you. Or if you're loaded, a Mac Pro tower.

I've never used Avid, but I use Final Cut Pro and it's very cool, it does a lot and is integrated for use with the other apps in Final Cut Studio, like DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Compressor, Motion, etc.
