Well for starters, I don't know what "Mac Air 1466" means exactly. Presumably it's a MacBook Air, but I don't know where you are getting "1466" from. What we need to give you more accurate advice is the model identifier. To get that, go to the Apple menu (top left corner of your Mac), click on "About This Mac", then "System Report". We need the second line that reads like this: "Model Identifier:MacBookAir5,2".
Hi
Sorry I am not good at this. I got the 1466 from the back of my MacBook Air. I clicked on what you told me to and got:
Model Identifier: MacBookAir7,2

Thank you for your help.
Since my initial post my screen has got a horizontal line across it. From what I have read this is a sign the screen is failing. Is it likely to get worse? If it is, it looks like this will end up getting junked.
Thanks again for any help.
