Hi
Please excuse my ignorance on these matters, I am not very technically minded.
Can I use one of these:

With this SSD on my Mac Air 1466?
Many thanks for the help.

Well for starters, I don't know what "Mac Air 1466" means exactly. Presumably it's a MacBook Air, but I don't know where you are getting "1466" from. What we need to give you more accurate advice is the model identifier. To get that, go to the Apple menu (top left corner of your Mac), click on "About This Mac", then "System Report". We need the second line that reads like this: "Model Identifier:MacBookAir5,2".

I am guessing they mean one of the MacBook Air A1466 models, but golly knows which actual models as there are many:

Personally I wouldn't consider any "Green" drive as a boot drive regardless of whether it would fit, work or not.

Apple uses proprietary connectors so I would doubt it. Google MacBook Air blade drives.

Hi
Sorry I am not good at this. I got the 1466 from the back of my MacBook Air. I clicked on what you told me to and got:
Model Identifier: MacBookAir7,2

I have also received this message from the seller:It converts the NGFF M-key SSD to (for) 12+16Pin 2013 2014 2015 Macbook Air/Pro SSD.
Please Note:
Do not support PCIE X4 NVMe.
Do not support (for) Mac 2013 or later version adopted SATA M.2 NGFF SSD.

Replacemment:

(For) 2014 version MacBook Pro retina A1502 A1398 (MGX72 MGX82 MGX92 MGXA2 MGXC2)
(For) 2015 version MacBook Pro retina A1502 A1398(MF839 MF840 MF841 MJLQ2 MJLT2)
(For) 2013-2014 version MacBook Air A1465 A1466(MD711 MD712 MD760 MD761)

Thank you for your help.
Since my initial post my screen has got a horizontal line across it. From what I have read this is a sign the screen is failing. Is it likely to get worse? If it is, it looks like this will end up getting junked.
Thanks again for any help.

I'll have to admit that Apple doesn't make things exactly easy or conventional when describing their models.

Also, in your case a MacBookAir7,2 could be one of the following models that are part of that family descriptor name:
https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords=MacBookAir7,2

BTW: if you are serious about an SSD that will fit and work with your MBAir, you might want to check with OWC at mac sales.com.

For your screen problem, try checking out the same problem with similar models at iFixit.com.

Good luck.

PS: It sure seems by the lack of the number of your posts that you have been quite free of Mac problems since you joined. Nice.

Not a problem. We've all been there. So let's start with the list of compatible SSDs sold by OWC:
https://eshop.macsales.com/upgrades/macbook-air-13-inch-early-2015-2.2-ghz/internal-drives

These are all compatible with the model MBA you have, whether it's a 2.20 GHz CPU or the 1.60GHz version. You can count on their modules being reliable, just for reference here. As to the one you are specifically asking about, it looks like it actually is not compatible. It's an M.2 module, which has 2 notches on the connector end, according to the picture isn this listing on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078WYS5K6/?tag=macforums0e4-20

The modules shown by OWC, which we know are compatible, only have 1 notch. I believe that's a more conventional SATA connector. I'm not wholly up to speed on these blade SSDs, but this is what I'm gleaning from some brief googling.

So the bottom line is no, that module will not work. It has the wrong connector. If you decide to go with a module from OWC, I just want to point out that some of their SSDs require that you be on OS 10.13 or higher.

Errr... that's not good. It definitely suggests a graphics problem. Maybe a failing GPU, or maybe something as simple as a loose cable. I would actually wager on a loose connection over anything else.
