The docking port on my iPad Air needs replacement ( have checked power lead is Ok because it wired with my iPhone, have also checked for dirt in mouth of port).
Problem is that according to repair vista guide it can be an enormous amount of £226!! That seems an awful lot. Is it the type of job which a non Apple store can carry out - assuredly much more cheaply?

If the port is bad, they will have to take the iPad apart, unsolder the current connector and solder on a new one. If your iPad is still under warranty, then you should go through Apple for this. If out of warranty, then go with whoever will do it cheaper and guarantee the work.
