MAIL checking

When I create messages in Mail then click SEND the system gives the options for spelling checks which is fine....BUT if I then want to amend the mail before dispatch as soon as I access the draft text the message gets sent.
How do I stop sending after spell checking if I need to amend the text, please.

This can be avoided by changing a setting in Mail > Preferences > Composing > Change "Check Spelling" to "as I type". You've got it set as "When I click send".

Problem solved.
