I used to be able to click on links to threads I started in "My Posts",
suddenly, starting today, I get this message:

No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

Same here. It started doing it earlier today. All of the posts show up in my posts, but if you click it goes to not found contact admin! :D

It only happens when in My Posts. Here is a screen shot when I click any of the links in My Posts

There's an extra "=" sign at the end of the URL that shouldn't be there. So the end looks like "=&highlight=". It should really be "&highlight=", manually removing that extra "=" before the "&" makes it work.

That is one part of VB I have never messed with but going to look now. Thanks for the heads up RE.

I'm ever so glad someone brought this up and others confirmed.

I thought I had been "scolded" or banned or something, because I repeatedly tried to add a further post to a thread to which I had posted earlier. I kept getting, you don't have access to this page - gave several reasons including "no privileges" or "banned".

This was from a link emailed to me. But the problem persisted even when I got to the page by viewing "My Posts". Wasn't allowed to reply. Only happened on that specific thread.

I'm very, very relieved to learn that this was most likely a glitch.

Nick, the setting for that is supposed to be in the Navigation Manager but I have searched till I am almost blind and can not find Navigation Manager. It's supposed to be in VB 4.2 and up.

And I'm a masochist, so I enjoyed the experience:laugh

I also see it when I click on the "View First Unread" link in most threads.

The problem isn't in the "My Posts" link, but rather in the generation of the permalinks for the posts that are shown.

From all I have seen with the issue I believe Ashwin is correct.

Well, all this analysis is great, but what about a fix?

Sounds as if this started in the morning of January 31st, so something must have happened at that time to cause the problem.
Was there a software update, someone changed settings - software problems don't just materialize out of the blue.

And this is obviously not a lingering problem that was just discovered.

Update. The "My Posts" issue should be corrected...and be working normally now. There was also a similar issue with the "Unanswered" link...this should be operating properly as well.

Apologies for the inconvenience...thanks for your patience.:)
