Hello,
My name is Anselmo and I am new to the forums. I just bought a 2007 MacBook, and I would like to format it. The only problem is that the Install CD's that came with it are scratched. The Install Disk one is the one that is in worst shape. Since, I am a student and I love the Mac (and could only afford a used '07 model, MacBook 2,1, that is actually in very good shape, for a "crackbook"), I would like to ask if someone could send an image of the install disk one for this Mac or an image of Snow Leopard (because I believe that Apple doesn't sell the CD's).

Thank you,
Anselmo

You're in luck...Apple is still selling Snow Leopard install disks (United States, Spain, and Portugal links to Snow Leopard)::)

@pigoo3
Thanks. I will now close the thread if possible. Solved quickly, something rare on other forums.

Some FYI's:

- Maximum (newest) OS version your MacBook 2,1 is 10.7.5. Many members feel that OS 10.6 is better/more stable than 10.7...but you never know...you may need 10.7 for compatibility reasons for using some hardware/software.
- To run OS 10.7.5 on your MacBook 2,1...it needs to be upgraded to at least 2gig of RAM.
- Official maximum amount of RAM for a MacBook 2,1 is 2 gig (according to Apple). Many users have found that 4gig of RAM can be installed...but only about 3.25gig of the RAM is actually addressable. 3.25gig still better than 2gig.:)
