What happened? Is it going to stay up/open? Or is this a new host? Is there anything I should be prepared for?

At the end of December, I just stopped coming here, today, I went to delete the bookmark, and when it opened, I tried to login and it worked.

We haven't heard one way or the other beyond the original email stated closure of December 31st. So we are all hanging around for as long as the site stays open.

Yes, we're still open. If you had checked in at Facebook (do you have an account?) you would have seen my messages and that of Nick and Dennis. This site could close down at any time but for now we are open for business. We were wondering what happened to you?

I do have a Facebook account. I don’t use it very much. Never thought of looking there for anything, are one of you maintaining the Facebook page?

Dennis has setup a special closed group on Facebook called "Mac-Forums". Any member of these forums can join the group. We answer questions on there and also keep up with the latest info regarding site closure. Please join us.

Can't believe it here we are in Feb and this site is still up an running? I hope it's not a case similar to the recent Hawaii disaster warning which just turned out to be a case of one person pressing the wrong button. That's probably as unlikely as the explanation given in that case but wow! Are we sure it was actually 2017 they were talking about?

I was wondering that myself. Since I’m not a premium member, I wasn’t sure how the payment schedule was set up. Maybe they are waiting until all, or most, paying customers are up for renewal?

The Premium Member payment system is messed up. We have advised all our Premium Members to cancel any automatic payments they might have going to iNET via PayPal. The system is trying to debit PayPal accounts, however, iNET is no longer in business. Where the money goes is unknown.

I have just decided that I needed to change my .fr email address to the one that I will be keeping after our move back to the U.K. and there is still all the details on that screen for anyone to upgrade to premium at 25$. ! So they haven't ruled out taking money yet!

John: Do not pay money to anyone for Premium Membership as it is no longer available. Wait until the new forums are up and running.

Ta for the warning Chas, but I had no intention of putting money into a sinking jobbie mate ;D;D I was just surprised that the option was still there? Still,

I suppose that if the owners aren't touching 'anything' till it falls over that is part of the 'anything'?

Yes, because the latest on that is the employee thought it was a real attack, and "pressed the button" on purpose! Further, this person had a history of problems following policies and procedures, and there were audible instructions that it was a drill, even though part of the drill was audio saying "this is not a drill".

So, when is a drill not a drill?

When it's a Forstner bit (search on it if you don't know what a F bit is;);) )

Hey John...

We have drills here in Texas! You should see the size of them though - don't think they would fit in your toolbox. Our drills here find that black stuff in the ground and lately lots of natural gas. (no jokes about that John) :)

Well Chas, my Forstner bits get as big as 2" diameter. That i s big enough for me mate!

The last time I bought any drill bits from your side of the pond they started at about 0.25 mm and went to about 1.5mm and there was 50 in the box. All solid tungsten carbide, so I know just how big you make em :Mischievous::Mischievous: They don't need to go deep because TC drill bits don't need oil to lubricate them

Just looking at a lot of the members avatars here one could get the impression that its some sort an aviators or pilots forum.

Hmm, there is a distinct aeronautical theme happening here. Clearly I'm not a part of that.
