I purchased a Mac book pro, 2010, 2.93 i5 processor. The previous owner had the HD formated to NTFS and windows 8 installed.
I want to reformat the HD to Mac OS Extended and reinstall MAC OS.

I am being told Command + R will get me back the original MAC OS...is this correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Maynard

Using Disk Utility, by holding Command + R + option key, you can get the macOS. Alternatively, format the drive & again install the updated macOS. Make sure to take the backup before formatting the drive.
