running http server

hi, i tried to install an http server via "sudo npm install http-server -g" command, it asked for a password, i wrote my password several times and forgot it, now when i remembered it i tried again with the same command it send my the massage "command not found", i really need that server for my java programing, do anyone know what i should do?

You need to install npm which comes with Node.js (npm stands for Node Package Manager). Get it here.
