That's quite some rendition!

Beautiful, isn't it? Noa sang on the original album, but turned the part down for the stage show. Hélène Ségara played the part of Esmeralda, but apart from that all of those present on the album starred on the stage and the accompanying video.

The whole thing is well worth watching:

I bought the CD not far from where you are when I was working in France, after watching the "making of" documentary on TV.

Sounds like a good system to play an EXCELLENT tune on. I remember seeing Rush do Xanadu live at Wembley many years ago.

Now playing:

She's Israeli so she will be sailing from more or less the right place.

Somehow I never grew up and got stuck in the sixties.

Disturbed 'The Sound of Silence'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bk7RVw3I8eg

A month ago I'd not heard of this group but now I can't stop listening to their songs. A whole new set of fans as a result of this astounding cover.

Wow. That is a great cover.

@McBie I too am stuck in the '60s. I frequently find myself listening to songs that were released either before I was born or shortly afterward.

I don't think it's a matter of being 'stuck' in the 60s. This music has lasted so well and is collecting fans all the time. The age range - teens to seniors - at the Leonard Cohen and Fleetwood Mac concerts I went to in the last few years testify to it.

I listened to this on the radio the other day and thought, "How nice! a country song encouraging prayer." And then I started laughing and wondered just how many of us have prayed just like this song talks about. It is called "Pray for You" by Jaron and The Long Road to Love.

Neil Young - Heart Of Gold

And this .... it takes a bit of courage to take this one on .... but it was worth it.
( Similar to the version of Disturbed, but much more fragile. )

So I followed the link McBie posted and really enjoyed the very talented Jadyn Rylee rendition of "Sound of Silence"

Then this video came up next and I was blown away by this young lady's rendition of "Defying Gravity". Simply amazing.
