Hi all. So I downloaded a while ago ghostly and Adblock and at the time they were visible on my screen but I think I got rid of them being visible on the screen. And now I cannot locate both on my iMac. I am pretty sure I didn't delete them. How can I access them on my imac? thanks.

Look in your browsers Preferences, and it should have a page for Extensions or Add-Ons. They should be listed there and you can re-enable them. If not, go to their respective websites and download and install them from there.

https://www.ghostery.com/

I don’t use AdBlock Plus anymore, I prefer AdGuard AdBlock. But you should be able to search for the AdBlock home page.

I did that and it says 'extensions can be enabled in the Develop menu. So I went there, and it had a list of things but nothing mentioning those two software..

If you have Extensions disabled, that will show up when you click on the "Develop" menu in Safari (which we assume you have turned on). It will state "Enable Extensions". Just select that and the Extensions will then be visible to you.

Thanks for this chscag. I enabled the extensions, but only Adblock shows up in my browser while ghostly is next to it, but nothing happens when I click on it, it seems like it hasn't been enabled, or maybe it got deleted, which I don't think I did. I apologise for asking dumb things as I am not savvy in this way and am quite new to apple computers.

Never mind Ghostery is enabled now.

An advertisement from Ghostery came up on my browser talking about Ghostery for Safari version 5.5.0. Should I download it? Is it trustworthy? Anybody here have this version?

Yes, it should be safe provided it's requesting to update from Safari. Most extensions when used with Safari will automatically update without asking, however, some will ask.

No need to apologize for asking questions. That's what we are here for. Ask away. :)
