I downloaded Mac Auto Fixer, to use to clean up some things. I don't remember why, at this point. It has been months. Like Mac Cleaner, it is a pain and I want to get rid of it. I went to every folder I could find and used Find Any File to seek and destroy any vestige of this malware. But, I keep getting this window popping up.
(I'll add a screen shot.)

How can I get rid of this? This is really annoying.
Thanks.

So, I bought Reimage for a one-time use. It cleaned up lots of garbage. However, it didn't remove the pop-up. I called support, which I'm pretty sure is at a foreign call center. They would get an expert and fix the problem for an additional $129. I'm not happy. It sounds like a racket. If she doesn't call me back and I get another tech, I won't get this wonderfully "discounted" price.
I also, just now, went into Find Any File and deleted three other file pieces using just "autofixer" in the search field, as was suggested in the original suggestion post.
I'll bet that does it.

I'll let y'all know.

Thanks.

Avoid any clean up utility like "Clean My Mac" or "Mac Auto Fixer". The only utility which is recommended by us is OnyX. As far as "Reimage" is concerned, it's snake oil and designed to fleece you of your dollars.

That's the impression that I got, after the phone call. Actually, their website page looks hokey, like a PC page.

Let's hope so, and I've never had FAF fail on removing such software as long as one can figure out all the various names or parts of that it might use to search for.

There is another Applications folder, in your users Home folder.

That one nice thing about Find Any File.app (FAF) is that it can and will search everywhere. Even in and through the bowels of the OS and even "invisible" places and folders.
Something that Spotlight sure doesn't come close to doing, but then again, it wasn't really designed to do so.
