Here is a fun one. This is a sentence. All it needs is punctuation:

Molly had had had Don had had had had had had had had a better effect.

OK... maybe...
Molly had had "had", Don had had "had had"; "had had" had had a better effect.

Can I now take a brain break and enjoy a nice glass of my nice dry red wine U-Brew wine???

Unfortunately, not from top BC grown grapes but still pretty **** good, but affordable... :Smirk:

Thanks.

I guess there are not enough Mac/iPhone/iPad problems to solve - so now we have 66 posts on English spelling and grammar.;D

...you forgot punctuation, and the original post's main topic: pronunciation. ;)

I am just now reminded of one co-worker saying to another, "You didn't pronounciate correctly." :wasntme

Well done, Patrick! Got it in one. Although I think the comma and semicolon belong inside the quotes. But that is the sense of the sentence.

But that is the sense of the sentence.

And this entire thread is beginning to make less sense. LOL.

I think we can give member "toMACsh" the blue ribbon prize for starting this thread which has lasted through 84 replies and still going strong. :goofy

And maybe that's a good way to leave things, after all this is the mac-forums.com site, not an English language literary grammar class site. Lots of those around if any user wants to use them.

And then I'm sure there must also be some new English text/messaging sites with advice as to how to use the new English style with the new internet devices, applications and sites.

A good place to go to scratch the language surface some more, or at least get started.

I have just tried to read this thread and after the second page I started to loose the will to live:Confused:, but being a true English man one has to try to keep one's head and not upset one even one time. Because if one does upset one then there can be one **** of a comeback on one's behalf. So one makes sure that one doesn't hurt one's feeling even one time one hopes? Especially if one is one's neighbour
