I just ordered a new fully maxed out iMac from the Apple online store and it will be arriving soon. I am VERY interested to know if it will arrive in a plain box with no pictures on it or will it arrive in the store box with pics all over it?

If anybody has ordered a customized iMac from the Apple store please let me know if it it arrived in a plain box or not.

This is very important for me to know as packages arrive here at the front desk and they let me know when something comes in so if a box is sitting there screaming iMac all over it I don't want everybody who goes up to the front desk seeing who will be getting it if you know what I mean.

I need to know for sure because if they don't arrive in plain boxes I need to call the shipper while it's en route and have them drop it off at the facility so that I can pick it up there (where I will put it in my trunk and bring it into the house later under cover of darkness).

Any info would be appreciated!

That's GREAT news! THANKS!

Now I can just let it arrive instead of trying to intercept it en route.

let me give you more peace of mind, when my MBA arrived it came via FedEx, my driver carried that box to my door so carefully you'd have thought it was a newborn baby. LOL, he laughed and said "here is your precious item from Apple"
I think a lot of drivers are aware that anything coming from Apple is bound to be delicate & expensive & they treat it accordingly.

That's the same thing that my Fedex driver said when he carefully carried my new iMac to the door several months ago. They're a good lot!

My husband says that since Apple is deeply invested in the total customer experience that they most likely don't tolerate much in the way of packages being roughly handled or carelessly delivered. I'd imagine most drivers know they'd best handle Apple boxes carefully.

Most large electronic companies are very careful not to mark their packages with their huge logo saying steal me.
My last few purchases big ticket items not only did not have the companies name or logo it said "returns department" and I was very happy that these companies think outside the box.

Too many...
Haha...lol. I was worried about the same exact thing at first. I was scared crapless thinking that there would be Apple logos all over it or something, but it turned out to just be an ordinary shipping box...which held the good stuff within:)

Makes me feel comfortable for when I get the funds to build a new iMac. I was probably going to just go to the Apple Store and buy one they had there and settle so I didn't have to deal with the shipping and worry about how it was shipped.

When my mac was shipped to us, the return label said "AI" for the company name, very discreet (Apple Inc. I assume) and then it had a return address underneath it out of California, in small print on a shipping label. The only other things on the box were the Package invoice, which did NOT mention Apple on the visible section and the FedEx shipping label. It was a flat, matte, not bent very nice quality cardboard box with no detail on it. Just to put you at ease a little :) And of course, the obligatory signature was required at our household, although if the front desk signed off for it, then that's different.
