At the WWDC 2011 presentation he's a shadow of his former self, even in the way he speaks. :(

He looks like he weighs about 110 pounds, I feel really bad for him.

Hope he's ok. :\

Pancreatic cancer is such that most people die fairly quickly - months or a few years. Steve has already beat even the most optimistic odds by a factor of 2 or 3. He's living on borrowed time as it is, and good for him!

It must be heart wrenching to have all that wealth and power and yet no way of escaping your fate...

I don't think most of you have been paying attention on this. He's looked like that for a couple of years now.

Yes, he's ill. He'll be ill for the rest of his life, which I hope will continue on for a while. The complications from pancreatic cancer -- even if you beat it as he appears to have done -- are pretty dire. That's why he's on medical leave with no set return date.

To me he looked like he's having a pretty good time out there. I don't know how much longer he'll be with us, or if and when he should retire, but if he's having a good time that's a good thing.

while i do agree with you that he has looked pretty much like that for a few years..this time you could hear it in his voice,it must have taken all his energy to get out there and speak, and he delivered!

To me he looked like he's having a pretty good time out there.

with all his health issues..you can still feel the enthusiasm and excitment he feels about the future of apple.

he really is one of a kind

My dad died of pancreatic cancer and it was horrible and progressed quickly. That was 40 years ago and some progress has been made extending life, but not that much. I have just been diagnosed with leukemia and am getting ready for the fight of my life, so I wish Steve the best in his battle. He is a brilliant man who has done much good for many people in his life.
