Searching for this yields numerous apps that can do it for a price. There is this Android app that can back up your text messages to GMail. Perhaps that'll do the trick.

Screen shot Sue? I assume that would be a screen shot of the text? If so the text is way longer that a single screen and as I have never even looked at emails on my phone thinking that it's supposed to be used for phone calls :Oops: ? I have no idea just what to do?

I have used the camera on my phone a couple of times when I haven't had my proper camera with me! :[

Does this not work?

Forward your text messages

On your Android device, open the Voice app .
At the top left, tap Menu Settings.
Under Messages, turn on the forwarding you want: Forward messages to linked numbers—Tap, and then next to the linked number, check the box. Forward messages to email—Sends text messages to your email.

Any ideas please?

Why can't you just copy the text and then paste it into an email and then copy the text in your Mac and paste it into whatever document you want to use???

Sue, I would have to take 23 screen shots to get the complete sms !

Bob, when I do a Forward from the phone to my Mac the email actually arrives on the Mac but it just contains one line of the sms and I can't get it to send anything else. If I try the Dr.fone app this is what I get from there.

Patrick, I am sorry to say that I have no idea as to how to copy and paste anything on my phone. I have never used the email system on it and only ever used the web bits about twice. For me it is a phone and text machine and not used very much at that. I have a 1st gen Motorolo Moto G and so far it's done everything I need. It's about 7 years old and it works, well, apart from letting me copy my sms'? :[:[:[

Probably the same as on an iPhone - open message, press on text and a menu will come up > select copy. Now open an email and in the body, press > paste > paste text.

An idea...forward (same procedure as above but select forward, which may be a the word or an arrow) and send to me; also send yr email addy and I will send to you.

Sent you a PM with my details.

Instead of people guessing and making suggestions that way, or assuming your phone works the same as an iPhone, I think it would really help if we knew the version of Android you are using. I have an android phone and a Mac and then could try some of the suggestions to see what actually works.
You find the version of Android by going to Settings (in your Apps)>More (top right)>About Device>Android Version
I have an older version of Android 4.4.2

Did you try the 4 different options?

I just tried what is described in the link I posted in post #7

Works perfectly.
The message on the phone was 8 lines, they all show up on the Mac but of course as only three lines because the screen is much bigger.

The whole process is very quick and logical.

No special app required, no copy and paste.
But maybe an old version of Android does not support this...depends what version the OP has.

I just read the link that you posted and the four options.

I think the title of the article is misleading - the lady there is talking about "backing up" all your text messages to a computer.

For instance - in part 1 it says:
Note: You can't view or open the exported text messages on computer because the messages are backed up in one file as well as photos, music, contacts, etc

Not what the OP wants, I don't think

do a backup differently, but my backup includes everything on the phone.

I thought the OP just wants to forward a select number of text messages to the Mac.

I don't have an android phone, so I didn't check out the article. Thanks for the info.

On Android 4.4.2 I do this:
Go to Messages and the conversation where I want to forward a text
Select the text I want to forward
Touch and hold until the secondary menu appears
Select "Forward" from the list of options on that menu
Type in the Email address I want the text message forwarded to (or just select it if it is already on the phone)
Click "Sent"

Seems all very logical to me to forward specific texts to an email.
After a few seconds or minutes, the email appears in my inbox (I sent it to myself) and I get the complete email - but no subject line.

That's the problem Krs. I can send the email as you have stated, but I only get a single line and the text/sms would be 20 or so screen prints.

I have bitten the bullet, used Photo Booth and the MacBook camera and taken shots of the complete text. Not very good quality, but enough to read. So the job is now complete, if not totally satisfactorily.

sorry if my spelling is not up to much but I have a disyleksic keybaord:Oops:

Strange that this wouldn't work for you.

The text message I tried was the longest one I had in any conversation.

I assume you are trying to forward ONE message, not the whole conversation.
