Hello,

I've been using 12Mbps Speed for past 1 year on my iMac Bootcamp Win10 Pro then i didn't had slow internet speed problem in Win10, this month I've changed my ISP and now I've Fibre Connection which gives me speed of 50Mbps on the same old Wifi Router.

The problem i have is on my iMac MacOS Catalina when i do online speed test I'm getting 50 ~ 60 Mbps Speed [Download/Upload] but when I'm in windows OS and i do online speed test on the same website I'm getting speed of 15 ~ 20Mbps

I want to get same speed on Win10 Pro 64 Bit OS as i need to download huge game from Steam so if some one can help me improve my internet speed on Win10 i would really appreciate. I'm providing you details & screen shot for your reference hoping some one who has good knowledge about the internet settings on win10 will help/guide me in the right direction.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)
3.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
8 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Radeon Pro 575 4 GB
1 TB Fusion Drive
MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 (19B88)

BootCamp Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit Updated to Latest Version

TP-Link Router
Model No. TL-WR841N

• 300Mbps wireless speed ideal for interruption sensitive applications like HD video streaming
• Reliable, far-reaching 2.4GHz Wi-Fi coverage with two high-quality 5dBi antennas
• Supports 802.11n and is backwards compatible with 802.11 b/g
• Compatible with IPv6 -the more recent Internet Protocol version
• Compatible with input type RJ-45(Ethernet Cable) supported by ISP's all over India such as ACT Fibernet, Airtel Fibernet, Hathway, Tikona, Exitel, YOU Broadband, SITI, GTPL etc

DNS -> DNS Servers [Google]
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Things i've tried:

- Making sure windows is fully updated.

- Disabling Qos

- Settings dns servers to google

- Disabling "large send offload" ipv4 and ipv6

- Limit reservable bandwidth via group policy to 0

- rolling back network driver

- Plugging Cat6 LAN Cable directly into the back of Router then connect it to my iMac Ethernet Port

- using a different browser (Goggle Chrome)

- running program called TCP Optimzer which did improve my Internet speed on Win10 (Little Improvment)

Here are the screen shot of my internet speed test

1. MacOS -> Safari -> SpeedTest Website
2. MacOS -> Safari -> Open Speed Test Website

3. Win 10 -> Chrome -> SpeedTest Website
4. Win 10 -> Chrome -> Open Speed Test Website
5. Win 10 -> Edge -> SpeedTest Website

So my router setting is prefect also on MacOS setting is also good but something is not right in Win10 therefore some one who has good knowledge of Internet Setting on win10 can please help me.

The first thing I recommend is to make sure you have the latest Boot Camp drivers installed. It appears that you're using the free Google DNS settings which are usually the best for speed. As long as you're getting the speed you're supposed to be getting when in macOS Catalina, that tells us that the connection is okay. That pretty much leaves something that needs to change in Windows. Double check your Windows settings - drivers, etc.

I'm sorry I didn't quiet well understood what exactly do u want me to do with Drivers/Toolbox, if u want to know how did i install win10 then I followed instruction 1 year back when installing win 10 on my iMac, Purchased legitimate digital copy of OS which is still working then i downloaded the apple bootcamp drivers from apple website and did as i was supposed to do. Just few days ago windows detected update for my network adapter and i installed it and i keep my win 10 up to date.

I would request you if u can point me exactly what detail u want me to post step by step so that i can get the detailed info from my iMac to you and we can see what's is my setting under windows and then try few things.

It's been so long since I used winOS on my Mac, but there used to be a Boot Camp toolbox, that would be in the Menu Bar near the clock in winOS.

Hello! so if no one is commenting on my post then should I assume no body here has a solution for my slow speed Internet on Bootcamp Win10 Pro problem?

I've talked with my ISP Technician person and they suggested that I should re-Install Windows 10 Pro that should solve the 99.9% of the slow speed Internet on the Bootcamp Win10 Pro problem.

So should I re-install Win10 Pro & see if reinstalling windows again will solve the problem? because my Wifi Networking Adapter drivers are up-to-date in Windows OS & My Router settings is also Good as which ever device is connected to my router it gets 50+ Mbps speed, I really do not know what else should i do to solve my problem.

I also tried Microsoft Support (India) but even after 30 Minutes of waiting there was no customer support help for me on more then 1 occasion, is there an email ID/online website where i can get support from Microsoft for Windows 10 Pro?

Currently I'm getting <20 Mbps Download Speed on Google Chrome Browser but upload goes from 30 ~ 45 Mbps then stops between 25 to 30 Mbps on openspeedtest.com

It seems things haven't changed much with Windows, even the most recent version. The solution given by tech support is always.... "reinstall Windows and that will resolve your problem". You can certainly try that if you feel up to it but at the same time it may just make things worse.

I have run Windows on several occasions from the Macs that I had and my experience with Internet Connectivity and speed was always good. In some cases I remember getting faster speeds in Windows than macOS. Let us know how it goes.

Slow Internet Speed on BootCamp Windows 10 Pro - Please Help

Hello Yesterday I re-installed Windows 10 Pro and now I'm getting 50+ MBps Speed in Windows 10 Ver 1909 M$ Edge Web browser or Google Chrome Web browser

ChrmTest01.jpg

So I'm guess re-installing OS did solve the problem now there's just 1 minor thing that is bothering me In MacOS to turn off display pressing Shift+Control+Eject Buttons does turn off the Display But in Windows 10 Pro Ver 1909

Right Click on Start -> Power Options When i click Additional Power Settings -> Choose what the power buttons do

When I Press the Power Button -> Turn off the Display [Selected]
When I Press the Sleep Button -> Do Nothing [Selected]

Now when I press the Power Button behind the iMac in windows 10 the display turns off but only for 5~10 Seconds then the display turns back on, what i want is when i press the Power Button and if i don't touch the mouse/keyboard the Display should remain turn off till i touch the mouse/keyboard and in the background download should continue as normal.

So does some one have a solution for my problem, is there an alternative ways to turn off display in windows 10 then please help me, I would really appreciate the help and can close this post as my main problem is solved after re-installing windows.

Thanking in advance

I find that strange since your iMac is still controlled by the firmware installed. Shouldn't matter whether you're in Windows or macOS as far as the sleep or display are concerned.

Why not continue to control the display by using the display sleep rather than the power button? Not sure I understand why you would want to use the power button instead since you have to reach behind the iMac to access it?
