I recently read an article that you can run previous versions of MacOS in parallels, but when I go to the app store only Catalina is available.

Is there anywhere else I can get legit copies of MacOS software?

Thanks
Unfortunately it doesn't work. When you click on download it opens the app store then a pop up appears saying it cannot open the app store

Additionally the app store no longer has a purchased section anymore

The Purchased section is listed under your Apple ID/Icon. Click on that, and you will see your purchases. However, I can not find any Mac OS X/ OS X/macOS versions in my Purchased history. I do have the installers already downloaded to my Mac.

What version of macOS are you on right now? Those links will only work on Macs that can support the OS you want to download. So if you are already on Catalina, for example, none of the links will work since I can't go back.

On my 2009 iMac, running High Sierra, it will not show the El Cap, Mojave or Catalina installers since I can't install it on that machine. If my experience with my MBP, running Catalina, is anything to depend on, then I won't be able to see the older version of macOS either on my iMac since I can't go back to an older version.

At the end of the day, the ONLY way to reliably have a version of a installer is to grab it when it becomes available on the App Store and save it somewhere. Otherwise, it's getting harder and harder to grab the installers legally.

I was thinking of running a previous version in parallels to resolve the 32 bit issue that's came out of Catalina

You will (more than likely) have to duel boot your Mac using two different macOS versions. If you can partition your drive, and format the new partition as HFS+, then you should be able to startup into Internet Recovery and install the original OS onto the new partition. You may be able to get away with a 30GB partition, if it's only one 32-bit app you need to use?
