Having the need of my solar PV program being MS orientated I upgraded my iMac os to Mojave 10.14. Although win10 via VMware fussion did boot up nothing could be selected via apple mouse or one with a tail. Took time to reload Mojave, the end result no difference. Decided to reinstate High Sierra from the Time Machine all is now back to normal, until the next hiccup.

Any help would be appreciated, or is a case of waiting for updates?

Cheers and Beers
Richard

It sounds more like VMWare Fusion is not Mojave compatible or there are some glitches? Any updates from the VMWare folks, and have you accessed their forums to inquire?

Mouse and keyboard not working under Mojave while using VMware Fusion is a reported problem. The fix is to go into:

System Preferences --> Security&Privacy --> Privacy --> Accessibility

and allow VMWare Fusion to 'control your computer'

Thanks Randy.

It should be noted that with Mojave, security has been tightened and as Randy pointed out above, you must allow apps to have access. I had to do the same thing with Carbon Copy Cloner.

I'm now hearing that SpamSieve and TypeIt4Me, two popular Mac apps, also require permission to run under Mojave.

I suppose with just a few more updates, Mohave and later users will have to check in with the mothership, enter their authorization ID, before they can even use their Mac!!!

LOL, fingerprints would be so droll this day and age, and all safecrackers would be protesting when their sandpapered fingers would no longer register. :Blushing:

As I understand Apple's position with Mohave, is any Application will need admin-user permission if they will access anything deemed to do anything with Accessibility and/or Full Disk Access (including some System stuff) and that also includes additional permissions that must be granted for Apps that need to use the microphone, camera, Outlook integration, and Remote Desktop Control, and probably some others.

Except of course, most of Apple's own apps which will be treated as their "golden boy" that can do no wrong!!! :Smirk:

Anyway, certainly not a big hurdle during an install or use, as long as things work properly.
