Before anyone can offer constructive assistance, we do need to know a bit more about your setup.
For example: What Mac? Model, year. Which Operating System is it running?
Presumably, as it is an Excel File, you are using Boot Camp? Or is it one of the virtual software products like Parallels?
Where did the Excel file come from? By that, did you generate it or import it? If imported, from where - Mail, another Mac, a PC etc?
Sorry to burden you with all these questions, but the answers will help us to help you.

Just for information sake.... Excel 2003 is a Windows version not Mac. Excel 2004 would be the Mac version.

To the OP .... welcome to the forums.
There is only one way to repair a corrupted document ( any document ) and that is to restore the document from a non-corrupted backup.
No backup, no joy.
