2008 Macbook Pro with Yosemite
and Windows 7 (via boot camp)
Windows turns on just fine but can't connect to my wifi.
I put the laptop right next to the wifi box also.
It recognizes the wifi signal and displays its name OK but won't connect to it.
any suggestions?

It's been ages since I ran Windows 7 on my Mac but I do remember that you need to make sure the proper driver is installed. Did you go to Control Panel, open the Device Manager to make sure the correct driver is being used for your airport card? If you see an exclamation mark over the airport card, it might mean the driver is not installed.

I would think that the drivers are good enough for the system to be able to scan and show you anything at all. What error, if any, do you get when you try to connect?
