Need some help if you can give it -- Parallels is worthless.

I use parallels for some transcription work, including a footpedal. Everything was working fine this evening until, for no apparent reason, I get really bad keyboard/input lag -- seconds worth; the audio playback for the .mp3 file is broken, delayed, etc.

I have done nothing except do an update this morning, yet everything was working fine until just a few hours ago, and it works fine on my MBpro.

The fan runs up (which may not be abnormal), but everything is just slow, playback audio is delayed, open office -- any word processing app -- is slow input, taking seconds between a keystroke entry and the result, etc. I thought maybe something was wrong with the parallels VM, so I restored a copy from this morning, but nothing.

I thought maybe the new updates I did on the mac side might have something to do with it, but as I said i'm not getting any of these problems in my MB pro. Nothing has changed on the mac side, it runs fine.

Any ideas on why this could have happened?

I HATE WINDOWS.

Don't know if you solved this, but when I see that symptom (slow running) it's been associated with needing to reinstall the Parallels toolkit in Windows again. You might check at the Parallels site to see if there is anything there, too.
