Hello, i'm trying to increase the size of my window 10 bootcamp. I'm using a macos sierra and i created a new partition in disk utility and restarted into my windows 10 and tried using minitool partition wizard to extend my windows 10 bootcamp partition but it gives me an error saying theres not enough free space.
How it looks: tps://puu.sh/uDv1U/56d9ae902a.png (outdated link removed) The error message: tps://puu.sh/uDv3a/2d4c942411.png (outdated link removed)
I want to add the 30gb of unallocated space to my C:Bootcamp

Welcome to our forums.

There are several tools which can be used to extend a Boot Camp partition without losing data or causing errors: 1. CampTune X from Paragon Software 2. WinClone

From the images you included, it looks very much like you're going to have to start over. There is no way to repair that Windows partition without causing more problems. Boot back to OS X and make a backup of your Mac OS X data. Then boot to recovery and wipe the hard drive. Reinstall OS X and then install Windows 10 again with a larger partition. Also, if you can boot to Windows 10, make a backup of that data if possible.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Why would you use a Window tool to change the size of the partition on a Mac? To change the size of the partition the only way to do is buying a utility called Camp Tune which will do what you want. You do NOT create partitions in Disk Utility but in BootCamp Go into BootCamp and print the guidelines there and become famialr with them. If you tried to do this using Disk Utility I am very surprised you can still access OS X. Going that way usually ends up with having to erase and format the entire drive, using Internet Recovery to download an operating system from the App Store with your Apple ID, then using BootCamp the way the guidelines show you.

So from here, I boot to recovery and let it reinstall OS X and then install windows 10 again and make it a bigger partition. And if i need more space again I should purchase camptune and use it to resize my Bootcamp partition? Do I need a disc or anything if I do recovery or will it be able to reinstall OS X without needing some sort of recovery disc. Is there really no possible way to fix this without having to reinstall everything? I read online that the partitions have to be adjacent to each other to be able to expand one of them using the other unallocated one. Also I did it this way from a guide I think the guide was actually for older macs.

Try booting to your recovery partition instead: Reboot and hold down the Command + R keys as soon as you hear the boot chime. Once in Recovery, you may be able to backup your OS X partition using Time Machine. Of course if you made a backup prior to trying to resize, that's even better.

Thanks! I got it to recovery and its reinstalling again on "Untitled" partition. It only let me select that. The other option was Bootcamp. So after it reinstalls. I should use Winclone to backup my windows partition and then delete the partition and create it again but bigger? I have some stuff on Windows that i don't want to lose or redownload as my internet speed isnt that good.
