Hi all,

It's probably already been asked but i'm struggling to locate it in the search! I've got a Mac Mini i'm going to use as my main work station, I then have a Linux based Chromebook to do all my remote work from (Over VNC)

Has anyone got a Mac of any description, running with OSX and Server 2012 and Red Hat virtual machines, also on there? I'm an IT contractor and consultant, so both are needed extensively! :D

Help is appreciated massively!

Welcome to our forums.

Running Red Hat from a virtual machine is no problem with OS X as the host. However, Boot Camp (Apple dual boot setup software) does not support Windows Server versions as far as I'm aware. There may be a way for you to install Windows Server 2012 using an EFI boot setup. You would need to do some research on that to see if it would work. You might want to drop on over to the MacRumors Forum where they have a wider discussion on that and other setups.

RedHat will run just fine in a VM (I've run CentOS in one without any issues). Windows Server 2012 should also run fine - it's supported in VirtualBox, VMWare Fusion and Parallels 12.
