Okay, so I think that I have made a huge mistake.

This is the breakdown of what I did yesterday.

I wanted my imac to only run the windows os, so I took a windows ultimate disk and completely formatted the hard drive, and installed windows without the use of bootcamp. Windows works fine and everything seems to work, except for my sound. So, I decide to try and re-install my Osx, and it says that the software will not work on my machine.
So now, I am just wondering what to do. If you could point me to some drivers ( Imac 27", latest model) that would be great, or tell me how to enable the osx to work so that I could simply boot camp windows that would be great too.
Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you!

First, reset the PRAM. See this LINK.

Now.... what year model iMac 27" do you have? And what version of OS X was preinstalled on it? If you have a model that was preinstalled with Lion you'll need to download another copy from the Mac App store or buy the Lion flash drive from Apple ($69).

If your iMac came preinstalled with Snow Leopard, the original installation disks should now work after resetting the PRAM.

And this experience is why we on the forum don't recommend you ever completely delete OSX from your machine, even if you intend only to run Windows on it. Install Windows via boot camp, but leave OSX in a small partition so you can always boot into OSX and restore the machine. It avoids this problem, driver issues and preserves the resale value of your machine, plus it makes things much easier should you need repairs or other service from Apple. Good luck to the OP!

Cheers

Osx Lion came preinstalled on my mac. Okay I reset my PRAM but idk if i should download an .iso or .dmg version of Lion and would it be possible to boot from it?
Thank you for any help!

When Lion is downloaded from the Mac App store it downloads to the hard drive as an installer application not as an .iso or .dmg.

Since you formatted your hard drive, you also wiped the Lion Recovery Partition. I don't know how you're going to download Lion from the App store without the Recovery Partition being in place. You might have to pay the $69 to buy the Lion flash drive or make an appointment with the genius bar and take your machine in and let them do the install for you. (Hopefully at no charge.)

I am posting again today regarding my problem with Windows on my iMac.

So, I formatted my hard drive on my iMac 27" (latest model), installed windows directly without bootcamp, and everything works except for the sound.
I know this was a stupid decision but now I cannot go back, so is there any way to install the bootcamp drivers or any drivers so that my sound will work?
Please help!
Thank you!

You went about things back to front.

Purchase Lion on a USB thumb drive as you have deleted Lion from your lovely iMac. You could try Lion Recovery if you had downloaded Assistant to a thumb drive.

Format the drive and re-install and then set up Windows 64bit again following the instructions, particularly about downloading and burning to CD the drivers.

There is a reason to have OS X installed prior to Windows. But you were told this on another thread.

Do not start a new thread. Continue posting to your original thread. I merged your posts together.

Also, you've been given advice twice about how to recover.
