Anybody have a .mac account? How often do you use it? Do you wish you didn't waste your $99 on .mac? What are the benefits to YOU?

I looked at it a while ago, and the only real thing that I saw that I wanted was the [email protected] email address :). I thought it would be cool to have an @mac.com address. Other than that I have servers that do basically everything else. Or so I think.

I will be looking into it again, to see if anything as changed.

What makes you a .mac user?

well the email addy was the big thing that made me spend the $49 since i was already an iTools member. i like the fact that everything is accessible from my desktop and i dont have to use a browser to upload anything to my iDisc. some features are nice, but the price is pretty steep. ill probably do it another yr if the renewal is the same price, otherwise its bye bye .mac

the webmail sucks. i dont know how many times ive checked it and its down. where as ive never had a problem with yahoo. id get .mac for email only if they offer it which im guessing theyll do if they want people to stay with them

I have a .Mac account. I guess it depends on what you use it for if it's work the $99.00. I use the backup feature, the Virus scanner, and I'll be using it for my homepage. I also use it to sync my addressbook. To me it's worth it from a simplicity standpoint. Also since I would buy AV software anyway, it's not a bad deal for me.

.Mac is crap unless it is free. If it was free I would definitely have it but $99 is just dumb.
