How to Enable ‘Hey, Siri’ in macOS Catalina

To use Siri, Apple’s “personal digital assistant,” on your Mac, you can click on the icon in the upper right corner of your screen to activate it. But wouldn’t it be nice if, like on an iPhone and Apple Watch, you could simply say “Hey, Siri” to fire it up? You can, though it takes a few steps.

Your Mac's Specs
2021 M1 MacBook Pro 14" macOS 14.4.1, Mid 2010MacBook 13" iPhone 13 Pro max, iPad 6, Apple Watch SE.
Unfortunately this "fix" is device limited. That is, it will not work on some earlier devices. The setup options for Siri on Catalina on a 13" 2015 MBPr do not include Listen for "Hey Siri". I am limited to keyboard commands and I choose to use the default Command + Space Bar.
