Like me, you've probably had a PDF emailed to you that you need to sign. It’s a pain to print it, sign it, then scan it in order to send it back. Thankfully, there’s a better way. You can actually sign it right in the Mac Mail app.

So timely - needed this today. When I went into Mark Up I realised I'd created a signature already but had forgotten.

I never could figure out how to get a signature to work properly. Several weeks ago I had a Dr. appointment and the prerequisite to the visit was to fill out several forms on line which updated my health and so on. The forms had to be electronically signed and the method they gave to use was to sign with my mouse or trackpad. My signature looked more like an Egyption Hieroglyphic than what I normally sign in person. A pdf preformed signature is what I needed.

After I had to renew all my debit/credit cards (purse stolen), I have only used my initials as signature which makes it easier to do on the trackpad. I also followed the advice here to get a signature on paper and hold it against the line.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. Several years ago when lots of businesses were starting to use electronic signatures on card transactions I went into a used CD store in the area. The card reader was on a counter that was too high for me to reach easily from my wheelchair. The card signature gizmo ws on a short tether. Here I am in the middle of the store holding the card reader in mid air trying to sin for the transaction. My signature didn't look anything like it normally does.
