Here's some "food for thought". We would like to see daily forum activity increase significantly with various projects planned for the future (RSS articles being one of them).
The relatively small number of 10-20 RSS threads/day at the moment (in the long term) are really minimal.
As forum members...you don't NEED to interact with EVERY NEW post or every NEW thread (of course it's awesome if you can or if you want to).
It's the choice of each & every forum member to choose what threads & what posts they become involved with. If we were to start seeing 100+ new threads/day and 400-500 new posts/day...that's a lot of new content/day for every member to stay involved with (whew)!
You can choose to be selective.
If you visit the forum once/day (or more)...and you see 30 new or existing threads created or updated in the new posts area...you can choose to interact with the threads that interest you...and choose not to interact with the other threads.
Once you have interacted with the new threads & new posts you wish to interact with each forum visit...then you can:
- Go the the Navbar (available on just about every forum page).
- Click on the "Forum Actions" link.
- Then click on "Mark Forums Read".
This will mark all new threads & all new posts (that were NOT interacted with during that member's visit) as read.
HTH,
- Nick
p.s. Of course we want to insure (as much as possible) that EVERY new thread receives at least one response.
Each thread posted is very important to the member posting..thus we want each & every thread to have at least one helpful post...so the OP knows we got their back!
No orphan threads please.
