really having problems with adjusting size of exFAT partition called 'FAMILY' in my 1TB Buffalo drive. There are 2 partitions, the first partition is Mac Os Extended Journaled Encrypted, I believe (it does 'only' show 'Mac Os Extended (Journaled)' but it does require a pw to access when connected to my mbpr). It is called 'JEDI'. Its size was ~ 1TB, when I added the exFAT 2nd partition by clicking “+” on the bottom left of the 'JEDI' rectangle, the 2nd partition takes up 499.93GB. I would like to have the exFAT sized 820GB, is there anyway of doing this?

Likely not without erasing the drive and starting over. You're not going to make the second partition larger without first resizing the first partition.

Core Storage that is being used with File Vault encryption & Fusion drives is still new and creates quite a few restrictions/limitations not typically associated with the normal partitioning. You can tell if your drive was formatted using Core Storage by looking at the Type where you will see Logical Volume Group.

Paragon is calling "Core Storage" experimental. LVG can be removed (it involves Terminal and may not be for the faint of heart) - I have done it to all my Macs after the first time I had partitioning woes - although, I've not had an external use CS when partitioning.

You might email Paragon and ask them if Camptune X will allow you to resize that first partition and at the same time keep the encryption (if you must have it - File Vault requires CS). I and am sure others would be interested in their response.
