It's not all Microtek scanners, just some of the older ones. I have a ScanMaker 6800 with Digital Ice that I love. And yes, I called and emailed Microtek and they told me they were no longer supporting this scanner past Snow Leopard.
So I guess I would have to have ScanPotter and I can't find anywhere to download it. A few sites pop up that say free download and when you go there it's a dead end, downloads to some other programs that I have no use for. Yosemite is not recognizing my scanner at all in the System Preferences, but when I used the demo for VueScan, lo and behold, there it was, scanning and working fine. That is the only way I have gotten a response from it since I upgraded to Yosemite. I'm still holding out on buying VueScan because I'm stubborn.

You can get ScanPotter from the MicroTek website for free. You just have to click around. For whatever reason VueScan doesn't see my scanner where SilverFast does. Right now all my eggs are in the SilverFast basket. Still, it irks me that Microtek can't solve my problem or at least tell me that I am wasting my time with them.

I will have to look around for it then. And yes, I am very upset with Microtek. It seems very funny to me that a third-party, i.e. VueScan can make my scanner work with Yosemite but Microtek can't.
Thank you.
