Is there any way to adjust the touch sensitivity of the track pad? I find myself performing functions I don't really want to do.

I am trying to touch/tap very lightly, but I'm still deleting and opening stuff that I don't want to.

I looked in the settings, but can't find anywhere to adjust sensitivity.

Thanks so much.

What do you mean by sensitivity then? What you're probably experiencing is errors related to the number of fingers you might be using at a given time? There really isn't a 'sensitivity' setting related to touch. I don't have small hands and I can easily rest my fingers comfortably on the trackpad. It's likely a matter of getting a little more disciplined about how your rest/position your hands and the number of fingers for a given action. The more familiar you become with the gestures - the more intuitive it will become.

Brian: Thanks. I guess I just need to use it and get use to it. It just seems over sensitive. For instance, I delete an email, when I go to move the pointer, I accidentally will delete the next email. I just thought there was a way to adjust the pressure for touch. I'll live with it and eventually I am sure will get accustomed to it.

There's always the possibility something is wrong with yours - maybe drop by an Apple store and see if those behave like yours. There should be a distinct amount of pressure required to 'click' the trackpad. I'm trying to visualize how the problem you described could occur - even as a combination of gestures or clicks - and I'm not coming up with anything.

Certainly - if the problem persists and you find that even after fully familiarizing yourself with the gestures and functions accomplished by each - you're still having this trouble - perhaps you have a faulty trackpad. It's certainly within the realm of possibility.

Tough to say with certainty since I can't see what you're doing so my best advice is to continue experimenting - but swing by an Apple store and make sure yours seems to be consistent with the devices on display there. :)

Brian: Thanks again. I guess maybe I am tapping the pad which is causing it to perform a function. I played with a bit more this afternoon and really concentrated on my finger action and pressure. May just take getting used to it.
