Hi!

New to Mac and so far very happy :) I just bought a 17" MBP and would like to connect it to my two displays. I use these for work and up til now have been running off a PC. I bought a MBP 'cos the MP is way more expensive and I also need the portability of a laptop. What are the solutions for getting this right? So far I have only found the Matrox Dualhead2Go DP edition (am getting a cost on that and expecting it to be heavy).

Is there no way to 'share' my desktop via LAN to my PC, so I can view my machine that way? It sounds like a long shot but it would be GREAT if there was such a simple solution :)

Thanks for any input

Anthony:
I went with the Matrox Dualhead2Go DP edition running dual 24" ViewSonic LED 1080p monitors. I'm in the same boat, work and portability. The Thunderbolt port works great. It runs 3840 x 1080 and the net result is each monitor running 1920 x 1080.
Don't get me wrong the Matrox unit is pricey, make sure you update the firmware if you do purchase it.
I have a quirky problem running in clamshell mode, but resolved myself to leave the lid open.

I run VMware Fusion 3 for Windows 7 & and migrated my complete Windows environment over to my MBP. VMware rocks..

If you are want to remote desktop from your Windows PC to your MBP you can use VNC to achieve what you want to do. If you have a Gigabit LAN data switch, it should be pretty fast.

You might want to research VMware Fusion software ($69) to migrate your Windows machine over to your MBP. Then you have the best of both worlds.

Your Mac's Specs
Way... way too many specs to list.
VNC would allow you to remotely control your mac over the network.

I just got a 13" MBP (Early 2011) for work and with it a Matrox DualHead2Go DP. I got the software installed and updated the firmware, but now, when I connect it to my 2x 1920x1080 monitors using the DVI cables, I get the monitor on my laptop showing one screen and the other two screens showing another screen. That is to say, the two external displays are identical. So, the two external displays show the same image (with the menu bar and the dock), and the laptop display shows an extension of that. I've tried changing the resolution using the system preferences, which, according to other forums, I'm supposed to do to get it to use the two external displays as one giant 3840x1080 display, and the laptop display as another display. The option for that resolution, however, isn't there. I only have 1920x1080 as the option for that display, so it's almost like it's not detecting both of the monitors on the Matrox. Any suggestions?
