Mac mini. July 2012
Yeah, how could anyone miss that overly huge space wasting announcement???

Any chance of reducing it down to a more normal size. Pleeeease!!! It seems a wee bit excessive to me, and I had to reduce the size to be allowed to post it. So yes it's huge on my 27" iMac. :Smirk:

Thanks...

It has been reduced to about 50% or less than it was originally.:)

As far as it being "huge" on a 27" iMac. I think that's just a little bit over-stated. Only way it's huge on a 27" iMac running at it's native resolution...is if the window devoted to the web browser is very small.

On my 13" MacBook Air...it's totally not huge!:)

Yes you're right...it does not show up when using the Mac-Forums app.:(

But as you've probably seen...the new Mac-Forums Facebook page was also announced in this thread 10 days ago.:)

Thanks, and yes I noticed. Now another 50% reduction would be nice and appreciated.

BTW: What am I missing as to why the fabcbook page seems so important or critical??

It certainly has no real organizational structure of any sort. But some of the photos are nice as are some forgotten hints and reminders.

I'm sort of surprised this question was asked by anyone that's pretty tech-savvy.

Have other Facebook pages been visited...how are they massively different??

Patrick:

The idea behind the Facebook Page is that a lot of folks are on Facebook, much more so than folks who participate in forum discussion. Our reason for the page is that those folks who are exploring Facebook see our page and that perks up their interest to visit us and perhaps join. It's also an excellent backup to communicate between members in the event our forum goes down for any reason.

The structure of Facebook is not the same as a forum. I realize that if you're not into social media it may not make much sense to you, but our Facebook Page is as well organized as any other.

Thanks for the explanation Charlie.

But why is there no direct link to the actual real Mac-Forum site on the Facebook page???

Yes, I guess most Facebook users use FB differently than I do.

Links to the actual Mac-Forums.com website are in AT LEAST two places of the Mac-Forums Facebook page...if not more.

If someone is not familiar with Facebook pages that's ok...not everyone is an expert (and maybe doesn't want to be).:) But please don't jump to erroneous conclusions.
